The Bumps!

I am lucky enough to be pregnant at the same time as my lovely sister-in-law, Katie. We are due only 4 days apart and are both having boys! We took some photos a few weeks back which will be so fun to show the boys when they are older. I can't wait to meet my little nephew too!
Here are the bumps...

Time flies when you're having fun...and pregnant!

I am already over 27 weeks pregnant and can't believe that we have less than 3 months until our little man is here. I looked at this little ticker on my blog today and my heart skipped a beat...only 88 days!! I have definitely been getting the anxious energy lately that is motivating me to prepare for his arrival. D and I did some nursery shopping today, we have been diligently taking our classes, and we are wrapping up other odd-ends in life. I love that our little guy is a stretcher rather a kicker. I always feel him stretching and doing somersaults and it is even cooler to watch him move. The body is such an amazing thing!

Until he gets here though we are enjoying summer (well, Portland's attempt at a summer!). We had great family and friends over yesterday for a BBQ to celebrate D's birthday and our kickball league starts tomorrow.

Here are a couple of updated belly shots for progress and I will continue to keep you all posted with more summer fun soon!

Hanalei - Our Paradise Vacation

What a vacation in paradise! My parent's celebrated 35 years of marriage this year so they took the family to Hanalei Bay, Kauai to celebrate. And it was amazing! David's birthday is actually the same day as their anniversary so we splurged all week and indulged ourselves in celebration. We spent time at the spa, snorkled (with Sea Turtles!!), kayaked, golfed, cooked, read, soaked up the sun and enjoyed each others company. It was awesome!

Here are a few pictures from our trip...enjoy!

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad! We cooked them a delicious breakfast.

28...it's gonna be great!

I already have a feeling that 28 is going to be great! Birthdays are a time to feel loved and spoiled and trust me...I definitely feel both loved and spoiled this year. Thank you to all of my amazing family and friends for showering me with love today!

Mama - 28 years old
Baby - 21 weeks old (in utero)

David planned a lovely brunch with close friends on Sunday which was the perfect way to celebrate - I had orange juice in a champagne glass to help me feel special and celebratory :)

I woke up to a delicious breakfast in bed that D made me and beautiful flowers waiting for me in the bathroom!

I definitely made a lot of wishes too - This is the Chocolate-Kahlua Mousse cake I had with my wonderful in-laws, Bob and Mary!

Happy Birthday to Me! And thanks to all of you for all the wonderful celebrations!

It's a baby boy!

We are thrilled to announce that Baby Thompson is a Baby Boy! He is healthy and growing exactly as expected. And already he is quite the wiggle worm and the most beautiful thing we have ever seen. Both D and I had a sense that our baby was a "he" but we knew we would be thrilled either way. How funny that our intuition was correct! We can't wait to meet him and are excited for the next phase of planning for his arrival.

The proof is in the pudding!

This past weekend was one filled with great memories and I am still trying to come down from the high of it all. My mom, dad and bro all came into town and even got to join us at our doctor's appointment. And Katie and Jesse even came down from Washington. We had an amazing time eating lots of great food, cooking together, laughing, and just hanging out. It was the perfect Easter celebrating NEW LIFE...now bring on the summer-time fun!

Hi Everyone...

I know I haven't been as good about blogging lately as I would like to be but I am going to try to get better. So here is a little post to just check in...
FAMILY:
Baby T., David and I are all doing well - I am currently 18.5 weeks. I have been regularly feeling the little one move around which is just the most miraculous feeling . I find myself sitting still and just taking in the little flutters quite regularly. I love them! As you can see the bump is definitely growing and David is always so cute when he kisses my belly or talks to the baby. Duncan is doing well too...he is my shadow and is taking good care of his pack!

FRIENDS:
Our dear friends Peter and Maddie got married on Saturday, April 9th and David and I were honored to be in their wedding party. All of the festivities were a blast and we just couldn't be happier for the two of them as they start their new life together. Love you guys!!
The beaming Groom and Bride - Peter and Maddie

D and I - Proud Groomsman and Bridesmaid!
WORK - THE UPRISE HAS BEGUN:
The Trail Blazers are back in the playoffs which is always a fun time. There is such a renewed sense of energy around our team and it makes it so much easier to make it through the work day. We have a great team right now and I am so excited to see how they take on the Mavs in this series... GO BLAZERS!
SPRING:
David has been gardening a lot and we are anticipating everything coming to life this summer. We went to the nursery today and got some rhubarb (among other things)! We have never had rhubarb before but hopefully I will be able to make a pie later this summer!

Lastly, we have a big week ahead of us. The Russo clan comes to visit for Easter and I couldn't be more excited. Seeing my family always brightens my spirits. And I rarely get to have the Thompsons, Rices and Russos all together in one spot so it is definetly a special occasion! And to top it all off.....we find out if Baby T is a boy or a girl on Friday. So be sure to check back in the next couple of weeks for the answer to "IT'S A ....."
